Adianoeta Vault

My life has fallen in some very fortunate events recently... graduating from college, job openings...

I have also been fortunate to post for the fashion section of www.girlstalkinsmack.com! Check it out!  It's celebrity related; who can't get enough?!

My personal blog posting time has been somwhat irregular. So, as an apology, and because I love sharing secrets, I took these photos of which I've collected over the years.  They've been stored in my little personal file: "Adianoeta."

~~Most of the images I've chosen are black and white photography/drawings only, and some are from The Looking Glass- my most inspiring photos in "Adianoeta."  I give credit to the artists and life events that made these possible.~~

Tattoos + Fashion

Recently, the life of this blogger has bounced her from side to side instead of the smooth ride much anticipated.  While blogging about all forms of art, with a particular interest in fashion, is my joy, my hourglass of time has let my days drizzle past me much too fast, but I found a way to slow it down and reappear.
This post has a concentration of a very different form- art+ fashion... on the body.

The best signature of an artist is the one the lasts a lifetime. ~ Me

Graphics- Characters in Motion

Today I was wandering through the bookstore, my fingers running across every magazine edge and each binded book. I wasn’t looking for any periodical in particular.  I let them find me instead.  When I write, the subject chooses me, so it just so happened that a few minutes ago Computer Art Projects, Issue 139 was dancing for the attention.  I mean, have you seen this magazine cover?  It’s cartoon heaven on roller skates.  As I was flipping through the “in depth guide for creative professionals,” articles and illustration in every style, font, and color emulate TV in paperback format.  It’s hard to choose just a single article to write about since the entire publication is a Graphic Designer’s dream; therefore I will give you a small taste.  If you would like more of the juicy platter, the magazine can be found at http://www.computerarts.co.uk/
“Project three-Characters in motion”
Modern animating techniques are described in this article by Tom Dennis.  The goal of any artist is to bring his or her creation to life.  Here we go….

“Cel Animation”
Advice: After illustration (done manually or technically) another artists cleans it up and scrubs those crazy characters to perfection so they are ready to be digitally painted, without redoing any of the previous process.  Check out Daz3D.

“Flash”
Advice: Flash is mainly used to bring the artist’s work onto the play stage of attention for audiences like you and me.  (www.bombsfall.com). Flash+ Photoshop+ After Effects= Genius.  Check out CS4, Adobe Bone tool.  Play.

“Stop Motion”
Advice: Okay, so it’s tedious, but artists do what they love.  Coraline (2009) the movie was made, therefore someone had to love it. 3D printing created all the mockups with expressions and physical personality.   Check out FrameByFrame for the basic stop-motion work; Bonix Software, iStopMotion 2-Home (does not support HD video), and Express and Pro.  There are limitations with most, however your video or still camera can partner with this software for achievable effects.

“CGI”
Advice: There’s no faking a brilliant imagination here! “When working with physical elements one doesn’t have so many undos, which forces you to embrace mistakes, while CG can be modified, changed and edited at speed- allowing many options to be quickly explored.” – Jon Humphreys, The Neighborhood’s creative director/ contributing founder

Gadgets- Beauty & the Brain

When beauty and brains come together they make some pretty wild kids- that we all want to buy! Some pretty fantastic minds were behind the creation of these gadgets. From sign Language Translators to motorcycles with more attitude than the men (or chicks) who ride them, don’t even try to figure out the imagination required for these futuristic pieces.  Function and fashion, kind of like Seth Green and model, Claire Grant, are the best parings!

I don’t know about you, but I have to have that coffee cup- drink my Joe and eat sweets too? Yaa

Dear Words, You are the Passion We Write…

… thank you for holding our hand when we were young and too scared to say admit our childhood crushes; for posting our problems in private journals; for partnering with Post-Its; and even for making it possible to fill 25 pages with intelligent vocabulary for unintelligent educators.   You are our gateway to expression, aggression, obsession, impression, and hopefully, our dream profession. Thank you for picking our brains and making sense of our world…we would have never have driven anywhere without you!
Sincerely,
Christie Marie

Color & Light! What's Your Color Palette?

Strip away the fluff, the stuff, and the rough and wild impressions that feed the industries of fashion and art.  The skeleton of many bodies of work is color.  Artists and designers this spring and summer (2011) will be looking to once again bounce ideas from art to fashion that resonate back again.  However, the coming seasons play with color in a new and unexpected way.
To work with color is to understand it.  There is no such thing as color without light, right?
Remember that brilliant artist, Monet?  No two pictures of the same scene were alike. Why? Because the time of the day dictates light! Light dictates what color we see.  Let me explain and explore this creative direction…
-Color is a trick.  Flecks of light change the look from light to dark and from soft to hard.    Intertwined shadows and gradations of color lay calm and peaceful in the mind’s eye.

-Historical objects own colors that are only repeatable with the passing of time.  On imperfect surfaces and aged objects rests tonal variations that link us to past times and cherished memories.
-When two or more colors traditionally aren’t friends these coming seasons, mix them together for an unexpected harmony!
-Monochromatic.  It’s a safe choice or a bold choice.  Neon brights turn the heat up on monochromatic tones.
-Light and water mix beautifully.  Whether light is reflected or absorbed, the shadows on the water and the twinkle on the surface make for mesmerizing colors. Look for deep smooth tones that go with the flow.
-Nature’s colors are real and raw. The look of flora and fauna yield natural and uninhibited color.
-Dirty color!  Imperfections, age, and dirt are in their own right, the world's natural finishes.  See what effect they have on color?
-The ever changing appearance of metallic surfaces are never the same and always strong.  Metallic colors can blend or stand alone, however on textiles they are always alluring.
